The Eurocarers member C’entro is organising the event “Disability: Life Project and autonomy”, on 26-27 January 2017, in Padua, Italy.

The programme for the first day consist in a Study visit, while on the second day a conference on “Disability: Life Project and autonomy” will take place.

The flyer of the Conference is available here. A draft programme for the two days is available here

The event has been triggered by the recent adoption by the Italian Parliament of the law “After us” (LN112 / 2016), "Provisions on assistance for persons with severe disabilities without family support".

The event will not focus on the technical aspects of the "After us” law. It rather aims to create an opportunity for interaction between existing Italian experiences of autonomous life projects for people with disabilities, and European experiences in the field.

This exchange of good practices will focus on the role of families, the innovation in housing proposals, the legal aspects and the prospectives for a sustainable future - both economically and as a collaborative exercise between the disabled person / family / institutions and the third sector.

C’entro has kindly offered to cover the costs for accommodation and subsistence for 6 representatives from the Eurocarers network.

If you are interested in participating in the event, please contact Casandra Cristea at by 10 January 2017.

Interpretation from English to Italian (and vice versa) will be provided during the event.

The Italian version of the flyer is available here
