Purpose

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality held an inter-parliamentary committee meeting dealing with the economic empowerment of women. The meeting took place on 08-09 March 2017.

The debates and workshops focused on women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, women in political and economic decision-making, and work-life balance. From a global perspective, the issues of freedom from violence as a pre-condition for empowerment and the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals were also discussed.

Consultation on investment in innovative digital solutions for active and healthy ageing

Do you have any plans to invest in innovative solutions for active and healthy ageing? Have your say in the short online consultation launched by the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA).

Target group of the consultation are organisations that are actively deploying and implementing large-scale, sustainable, digitally-enabled innovative solutions for Active and Healthy Ageing (AHA).

The consultation aims to identify plans for investment (both committed and potential) in the implementation of innovative solutions for Active and Healthy Ageing between 2017 and 2020. It will inform the creation of an Investment Map illustrating the EU investment potential in this area, contributing to the EIP on AHA Policy Dashboard.

"This is an excellent opportunity for organisations - any organisation, public or private, irrespective of being partner of the European Innovation Partnership on AHA or not", says organiser Julien Venne of European Connected Health Alliance, supporting the EIP on AHA. "They can gain visibility at a European level for their investment potential, identify enablers or obstacles that can impact on the realisation of those investments, as well as contribute to the creation of an Investment Map for innovative digital-enabled AHA solutions."

More information and short online Consultation Questionnaire. Closing date for submission of responses to the Online Consultation is 10 April 2017.
