Laura works as a professor of social welfare law at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Tampere University. Her research interests have revolved around informal care and access to social rights. She has worked, for example, with legal analyses of informal care contracts, privatisation of care and the duty to provide accessible information as a prerequisite for accessing services and benefits. She offers insight into Nordic models of organising care, often combining both formal and informal care.
