3rd International Young Carers Conference – Registrations are open till 27 April
Registrations are still open for the 3rd International Young Carers Conference, which will take place online from 3rd to 6th May.
Are you committed to enable all children to fully enjoy their human rights? Young carers – children and young people who provide care for a relative or friend with long-lasting limitations (chronic illness, disability, frailty or addiction) – are still too often invisible and their needs for support are not met.
Don’t miss the opportunity to recharge your commitment batteries!
A learning opportunity: The Conference offers an incredible opportunity to learn from researchers, practitioners, young carers and policymakers, coming from more than 20 Countries, including Japan, Canada, United States, India, Kenya and East Africa.
An enriching programme: More than 80 presentations around the topic “Identify, Support and Listen to young carers”. The programme features speeches from prominent researchers such as Prof. Saul Becker (University of Cambridge, UK) and Professor Elizabeth Olson (University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, U.S.A.). Plenary live sessions with participation of high-level representatives from European and international institutions, such as Helena Dalli, EU Commissioner for equality and Ramya Subrahmanian, Chief, Child Rights and Protection, UNICEF Innocenti Research Institute.
A flexible Conference: you can dip in dip out as you wish. Too many interesting sessions and not enough time to follow them all? Don’t worry: participants will have access to the recordings of every session for two months after the Conference!
An Innovative, Participatory Conference: The Conference is based on the principle “Nothing about us without us”. Young carers are in the driving seat. They will contribute to the Conference as experts by experience and actively engage in dialogues with policymakers and other stakeholders.
Don’t miss this opportunity to reflect on the state-of-the-art and next steps in research, policy and practice related to the needs and situation of young carers across the world.
