The European voice for informal carers

‘Let’s break down taboo around cancer & work’

The Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is organising a virtual policy dialogue on Monday 30 May 2022 from 13:00 – 15:00 CEST on Zoom.

To mark European Week Against Cancer and recognising there is still more work to do to put survivorship and quality of life issues into the spotlight of current discussions around the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, the objectives of this webinar are to:

  • raise awareness of the impact of cancer in the workplace;
  • present the ECL Patient Support Working Group’s publications (leaflet for employers, leaflet for employees and handbook for employers) to which Eurocarers contributed;
  • discuss ways of improving communication between employers and employees;
  • recommend actions that should be prioritised in Europe to facilitate return to work and tackle discriminatory behaviours towards cancer patients and survivors.

. This event will include the perspectives from the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, the European Parliament, civil society and the scientific community.
