The gender perspective in the Covid-19 crisis and post-crisis period

On 21 January 2021, the European Parliament issued and important resolution on the gender perspective in the COVID-19 crisis and post-crisis period

This resolution calls on the Commission to collect disaggregated and comparable data on the provision of different types of care, including childcare, care for older persons and care for persons with disabilities, as well as the carer’s gender, age and employment status, to feed into a study examining the care gap, with a view to devising an EU Care Strategy that would take a holistic and life-long approach to care, taking into account the needs of both carers and those who receive care.
