Shortly after the start of the pandemic ZOOM-projects were started in order to reach two groups of people. People with dementia and their care giving relatives. Both groups were particularly affected by the pandemic and the resulting restrictions, they had to absolutely limit their physical contacts and were affected by loneliness and isolation. Together with our host Katharina who developed a format and is running both cafes, we have found a way not only to reach those concerned but also to involve other interested persons. During the individual dates of the cafes, everybody who has time can join, meet each other and continuously stay in touch. Furthermore, contacts outside the café times have developed, an additional valuable development.
Both cafes will be continued the whole year 2021 – and probably even afterwards.

Café Time Out – the neat coffee house for caregivers
Whoever has cared for a person knows that there is hardly time left to live. And that there is hardly any time left to talk about wishes and concerns. Not to speak of voicing one’s anger or talking about small everyday successes. The kind of talk you have in your favourite coffee house. Anonymous and not quite anonymous, not at home but still at home. This is possible. We make use of the internet platform ZOOM to meet every third Wednesday of the month.
