Advancing the NCDs agenda – European and global developments

The European Commission launches a toolkit for implementation of EU NCDs Initiative “Healthier Together” which mentions the need to support carers of people with dementia.

The “Healthier Together” toolkit identifies policies and practices to tackle non-communicable diseases (NCDs). It also maps the EU’s legal and financial tools that can support its implementation. €156 million was earmarked under the EU4Health 2022 work programme for its implementation. Throughout the consultation period, EuroHealthNet has actively voiced its key priorities for ambitious action around health determinants and mental health. We strongly commend the toolkit’s focus on health promotion and reducing health inequalities.

Moving forward, EuroHealthNet has issued a statement, calling for strong coordination within and between Member States as well as a transparent process of accountability to facilitate the effective implementation of the initiative.
