The European voice for informal carers

Family members and caregivers of people with Neurodegenerative disorders can participate in Genetic Counselling sessions that support them with their inherited diseases.

“Genetic counseling in European universities: The case of neurodegenerative diseases” (GECONEU) is an Erasmus+ project that aims to develop an online Course for University students focusing on Genetic Counseling (GC) for family members of people with inherited disorders. The central impact of this project is to support people, caregivers, and society to understand better the aims of genetic testing and the usefulness of GC. This project will provide the opportunity to take all the factors of an appropriate training course for society into account by involving the families of people with Neurodegenerative disorders in the development of the learning and teaching outcomes consequently improving their visibility and enhancing their level of knowledge. To further propel the project forward, all partners convened in Brussels, Belgium on the 6th and 7th of July. During this meeting, the final details of the course were discussed and reviewed by all stakeholders. This collaborative effort ensures that the course meets the highest standards of educational excellence and relevance
