Save the date: 3 international events about breast cancer prevention

Our colleagues from Portugal, Italy and Cyprus share their update on the Prolepsis EU project:

In the final months (February – March 2022) of the Prolepsis project, the main objective is to disseminate the results achieved and maximise the benefits, allowing a wide audience of stakeholders to learn about the main products produced and engage with the members of the project’s consortium.

With this aim, 3 events will be realized, in Italy, Portugal and Cyprus, aimed to meet informal caregivers, health professionals and organizations that could play a multiplier role, e.g. associations addressed to caregivers and organizations offering ICT trainings. The contents of all the events will include the dissemination of the Research Report of the first Output of the project, the presentation of the training programme developed for women caregivers, the Prolepsis APP, the results of the piloting of the Prolepsis training programme and the Prolepsis App in Cyprus, Italy and Portugal and the E-book for caregivers containing the whole experience of the project.
Participants will be actively engaged during the event as they will have the opportunity to practically experience the methodologies developed and to listen to the point of view of caregivers and professionals who took part in the pilot.

In Cyprus, two events will be organized, duration of 4 hours each, by:

• the Department of Nursing of Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), on the 17th of February 2022, at 16:00 – 20:00, in the Senate House (Αίθουσα Συγκλήτου, Κτήριο Πρυτανείας), CUT’, 30 Arch. Kyprianos Str. 3036 Limassol an
• the Europa Donna Cyprus, on the 18th of February 2022, at 16:00 – 20:00, in Nicosia.

In Portugal, on the 21st February at 09h-13h in Vila Nova de Gaia Auditorio Municipal.
In Italy, an online event will be organized on the 3rd of March at 14.30-17.30.

Final partner meeting in Athens

The last hybrid project meeting was held in Athens in December 2021. The partners discussed the last project steps, including the publication of an E-book for health professionals, such as nurses, doctors and psychologists, aimed at learning more about how to promote breast cancer prevention through mHealth interventions, as Prolepsis. The future of the project, its sustainability and impacts were also discussed. The responsibility of the partners is now to leave the legacy of Prolepsis in the hands of relevant stakeholders.
