A study of young carers in Malta

The purpose of this study is to raise awareness about young carers in Malta, to gain an initial understanding of the circumstances and lives of these children and young people in Malta and the best way to assist them. In order to achieve this, four objectives werer established:

1. To examine the mechanisms to identify young carers in Malta
2. To explore the characteristics of young carers in Malta
3.  To assess the impact of caring in the lives of Maltese young carers.
4. To identify the best ways to assist young carers in Malta.
