The final dissemination event of the Edy-Care Project will take place on 19th February 2020, from 09:00 to 12:30, at Palais des Academies.
The event will be an opportunity to reflect on the impact of caring responsibilities on education and social inclusion of young carers. The Edy-Care Project partners will present the innovative activities they have implemented in their countries (Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia) to support young carers in schools.
Organisations from countries at a more advanced level of awareness and support for young carers will share their good practices (Carers Trust will present the Young carers in school programme).
The event will then move to a policy reflection with stakeholders from fields other than education, in order to suggest effective ways to collaborate with the final goal of supporting young carers and empowering them to thrive.
The event will be attended by young carers, school professionals, service providers, policymakers, representatives from carers organisations, at regional, national and European level.
The event will provide participants with a better understanding of the challenges faced by young carers in school, but, most of all, will empower them with concrete tools they can adopt to improve the quality of life of young carers.
The event is free, but places are limited. Please register here.
