A course for everyone with an interest in caring for older people as they become frailer and approach the end of life
Did you know more than 70% of people aged 60 and over have progressive conditions that will need palliative and end of life care? Do you know what palliative and end of life care is about? It is much more than caring for people with cancer. And if it makes a difference, why wait?
We know that caregiving for an older person at the end of life is not easy. With this in mind, we developed a course where you will be asked to reflect on different topics, your own experience, participate in quizzes, and review and analyse materials provided, like short videos and readings.
Introduction to Caregiving for Older People at the End of Life is a free e-learning course, consisting of 5 sections covering different contents relevant for the end of life. Each section corresponds to 1 week and the learning rhythm is 3-4 hours of effort per week. The course is fully delivered online, in English, and there is no direct interaction between the learners or between the learner and the course coordinators.
