Highlights from the II International Care Congress – Different Ways of Care ARE Possible (and Needed)

The II International Care Congress, held in Vecindario, Santa Lucía de Tirajana (Gran Canaria) on November 13-14, 2024, has come to a close, and we are filled with gratitude and pride for its tremendous success. Organized by ACUFADE with great support from Eurocarers, the event brought together caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers from across the globe to engage in vital discussions about the future of caregiving.

With the theme “Different Ways of Care Are Possible,” the congress aimed to highlight diverse caregiving approaches, foster collaboration, and inspire innovation in caregiving practices. The congress featured a variety of remarkable sessions, including one with the Yanomami tribe from the Amazon, who shared their inspiring community care practices. The contributions of Eurocarers members from Ireland, Finland, Italy, Portugal, and the Netherlands added invaluable perspectives, enriching the discussions and broadening the scope of the event.

As we reflect on the congress, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who participated. Whether you joined us in person or virtually, your engagement made the event truly special.

For those who missed any part of the congress or wish to revisit key moments, we are pleased to announce that the recordings of all conference sessions, along with the posters presented, are now available on our interactive online platform—now also in English.

Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you again in the Canary Islands in 2026!
