Join Us to Make Young Caregivers Visible – Inspiration Day on Supporting Young Carers in Education
Our Belgian colleagues invite the Dutch-speaking Eurocarers community to attend their Inspiration Day on Young Carers.
On 5 March (10:00 – 16:00) at the Provinciehuis in Leuven, we are hosting an Inspiration Day on Young Carers focused on how we can better support young carers in education and beyond. This event brings together experts, practitioners and young carers themselves to share insights, experiences and practical tools.
The day includes:
• A panel discussion with voices from research, policy, education and youth sectors.
• Testimonies from young carers that bring their lived experience to life.
• A choice of workshops on topics such as mental wellbeing, support strategies in secondary and higher education, cross-border examples including the Netherlands, grief and loss, and culturally sensitive support.
Participation costs €50 and includes breakfast, lunch and drinks – and you can receive a participation certificate on request.
Young carers are an invisible but vital group in schools and communities. You’ll find at least one young caregiver in almost every classroom, yet their struggles often go unnoticed. By sharing knowledge and strengthening support networks, we can help ensure that young carers receive the understanding and resources they deserve.
👉 Register before 20 February to secure your place and workshop preferences.
We warmly invite our Dutch-speaking Eurocarers community to join us — let’s learn, connect and act together!
