Eurocarers’ contribution to ESF consultation

Recently, the Commission opened a consultation to know citizens’ and stakeholders’ opinion on the activities carried out by the EU since 2014 with support of the European Social Fund in order to promote social inclusion, combat poverty and any discrimination. Eurocarers submitted a contribution on 17 December, building on a survey circulated internally in November 2019, highlighting the need for the ESF to target more deliberately informal carers, who are particularly vulnerable to unemployment and social exclusion.
