The European voice for informal carers

Eldicare 2.0 is looking for participants to take part in free training on elderly care

Eldicare 2.0 is a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, that Eurocarers is part of. The consortium is currently is developing and piloting a modern training programme for people who work with — or care for — older adults.

As part of the project, we are now inviting individuals in Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, France, Greece and Spain to express their interest in taking part in the training pilot.

This training opportunity is open to informal carers, who are warmly invited to participate.

Participation is free of charge. Selected participants will follow a structured curriculum, gain a recognised digital micro-credential, and receive a certificate of completion.

We are looking for

The programme is open to people involved in the care of older adults, including:
• Professional caregivers employed in a care facility or in home care;
• Students in a relevant field (i.e., nursing, social care, gerontology and related studies);
• Informal / family carers who look after an older relative or friend;
• Other professionals with an interest in elderly care (i.e., nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, care-facility managers and similar roles).

The programme offers

• A structured online curriculum delivered through a dedicated e-learning (MOOC) platform, available in your national language (German, Bulgarian, Czech, French, Greek, Spanish and English);
• A modular design of stackable units, so you can progress step by step at a manageable pace. The pilot curriculum comprises 10 stackable modules of 20 hours each — approx. 200 hours in total;
• For a limited number of selected participants: an optional face-to-face component and, in some cases, a short work-based learning mobility abroad;
• A blockchain-based digital micro-credential and digital badge recognising the competences you acquire;
• A certificate of completion. The programme is undergoing international quality accreditation, expected during the project.

We ask of participants

• A genuine interest in completing the training and engaging with the learning materials;
• Completion of the online modules within the pilot period: tentatively October–December 2026;
• Willingness to provide brief feedback that helps us evaluate and improve the programme.
