The European voice for informal carers

Eurocarers Annual General Assembly 2025

The Eurocarers Annual General Assembly (AGM) 2025 took place on 26–27 May at the Hotel Tatra in Bratislava, Slovakia, bringing together members and stakeholders from 19 countries to reflect on shared progress and explore new pathways to support informal carers across Europe. It was a true pleasure to meet and exchange with our dedicated members, whose commitment continues to drive the movement forward.

The two-day event began with a welcome lunch and formal proceedings, including the presentation of the 2024 Activity Report and the election of new Board members. Participants also warmly welcomed France Répit as the newest full member of the Eurocarers network.

One of the key highlights was a high-level Slovak-European policy dialogue entitled “Strategies and Solutions to Strengthen Informal and Formal Care in Slovakia.” Featuring contributions from national officials and European policymakers, the session provided rich insights into current challenges and promising policy developments in carer support.

Day 2 focused on implementing Eurocarers’ commitment to supporting the development of new carer-led organisations, particularly in regions where such structures remain weak. Further discussions included the outcomes of the Eurocarers Policy Working Group meeting on migrant care workers and a ‘Policy Tour de Table’ where members exchanged updates on recent and ongoing national policy initiatives.

The 2025 AGM reaffirmed Eurocarers’ collective determination to advance the rights and recognition of carers across Europe, while strengthening solidarity and collaboration within the network.
