The Chrpa campaign in the Czech Republic
On 15 May 2025, the Chrpa campaign will start in the Czech Republic, which will be implemented by Alfa Human Service, z.s. from 2019. Chrpa in translation means cornflower. The campaign symbolically starts on Family Day, which is celebrated in the Czech Republic on 15.5.
The annual CHRPA #ThankYourCaregivers, #chrpapecaregivers campaign starts with the photographing of blue cornflower plants from May to September, these photos are then symbolically given to all caregivers on the Day of Caregivers on 2 October through a large collage photo of the sent cornflowers, which Alfa Human Service sends virtually via social networks. The Chrpa campaign is a big thank you to informal carers for their dedicated work! By sharing this Chrpa, everyone who appreciates caregivers and wants to thank them can join the campaign with us. If you see the cornflower anywhere, take a picture and send it to: info@alfabet.cz or via the organization’s social media: Facebook / Instagram/ LinkedIn.
And why has the cornflower become a symbol of carers?
This plant is very similar to the carers: it gives out the beauty of its flowers unobtrusively by the roadside, but also in gardens. Where the cornflower is cared for, it grows stronger and blooms longer.
Alfa Human Service, z. s., which has been operating since 2000, supports caregivers in the Czech Republic, specifically the long-term ill and the elderly and parents with disabled children. With the Chrpa campaign, it aims to support these vulnerable groups in their psychological resilience and at the same time empower carers in our society by engaging the general public.
