Family Carers Ireland Autumn Research Conference

Family Carers Ireland’s annual Autumn Research Conference, entitled ‘Partnership in Practice’ was held online on 23rd November 2022. Preliminary findings and discussions from seven research projects focusing on different aspects of family carers’ lives and the caring experience were presented, including the costs of caring, the social and economic value of care, carer harm and medication management, with different points in the life course represented e.g. young carers, working family carers an older carers. Family Carers Ireland partnered on all seven of these innovative research projects. Carers were also involved in presenting research findings and in the panel discussion, highlighting FCI’s work in Public and Patient Involvement. The conference concluded with reflections from Health Research Charities Ireland (HRCI), Public & Patient Involvement Contributors, UCD and the PPI Ignite National Office.
