From Good Practice to Evidence: WELL CARE Presents its 10 In-Depth Case Studies
We were pleased to launch the WELL CARE project deliverable, “Final report on 10 in-depth case studies in 5 European countries” at the first dedicated WELL CARE project symposium at the 23rd IAGG World Congress of Gerontology that took place in Amsterdam from 5-8th July. The overall aim of the report is to highlight key findings of case studies in the five project partner countries (Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Sweden) on a total of 10 selected good practices supporting informal carers and long-term care (LTC) workers mental wellbeing and resilience from a list of top ranked good practices identified in the previous project phase. The 10 in-depth case studies reflect diverse LTC contexts, intervention types, and organisational settings. Some practices are broad and systemic, whilst others are targeted to specific care contexts such as, care transitions, community support for mental health, intellectual disabilities, quality management in residential LTC, and culturally sensitive care support. Seven practices were explicitly identified as strengthening care partnerships, and several demonstrated a strong potential for regional or national transferability. Most good practices investigated through case studies mainly target informal carers and to a much lesser extent LTC workers.
The key findings of this report will contribute with relevant contextual insights and evidence to inform the next project phase which involves developing and testing innovative solution prototypes in the five partner countries.
