The European voice for informal carers

Fundraising at the Paris Marathon

On Sunday 13 April, four runners took part in the Paris Marathon to raise money for one of our partner organisations, VOCAL – Voice of Carers Across Lothian. VOCAL is a charity supporting unpaid carers in Edinburgh and Midlothian (Scotland) through individual support, information, training and access to services.

Together, the runners raised over £4,000 for VOCAL! Not only was this an amazing achievement, but it also helped to raise awareness of caring throughout Europe. Caring is not an isolated issue and it can impact the lives of anyone, no matter what country they live in. By joining our campaigns together, we can improve visibility of carers across all our networks and remind people that carer support is available.

Pictured is one of VOCAL’s supporters, Stuart, proudly crossing the finish line. His t-shirt reads “I support carers”. To find out more about VOCAL, please visit www.vocal.org.uk.
