The European voice for informal carers
Mainstreaming Carers In Scotland

Mainstreaming Carers in Scotland

The Scottish carer organisation VOCAL – Voice of Carers Across Lothian – have taken further steps for mainstreaming carers in and around Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital City.

As part of a corporate partnership with Edinburgh’s transport network Lothian Buses – who employ 2,500 staff in the capital – the company provides approx. £500,000 worth of free advertising through this bus which will travel on all Edinburgh bus routes over the next 2 years, and through digital screen-advertising to passenger inside all buses.

This corporate partnership will help identify carers, raise awareness of caring across a large region, promote fundraising for carers and support the company to adopt more carer-friendly policies.

We hope this can serve as an example for corporate partnerships in Helsinki, Dublin, Lisbon, Paris, Skopje, Bukarest, Ljubljana, Tallins, Berlin and elsewhere!
