Upcoming Webinar | Unseen, Undervalued – Recognising the Real Value of Informal Care
Eurocarers is pleased to announce the first webinar of the EQUAL-CARE project, entitled “Unseen, Undervalued – Recognising the Real Value of Informal Care.” The event will take place online on 9 January 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET.
The webinar will focus on the economic and social value of informal care, highlighting the crucial role played by both paid and unpaid carers in supporting people with disabilities. It will also explore how gender norms contribute to the invisibility and persistent undervaluation of care work across Europe.
The discussion will address:
-
the contribution of informal carers to Europe’s care systems,
-
why care work remains undervalued and highly feminised, and
-
the need for greater recognition, visibility and policy investment in care.
The event will bring together experts, researchers and practitioners and will include presentations, a live poll, and a moderated Q&A session.
