The Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) supports Member States to strengthen and build resilient long-term care systems. Under the facility, reforms and investments in long-term care across Member States amount to EUR 8.1 billion.
According to this thematic analysis recently published by the European Commission, the RRF:
- enables the construction and renovation of hundreds of care facilities across Member States as well as the purchase of tools to enhance home and community-based social services promoting de-institutionalisation and independent living
- enhances the training of social and healthcare workers, nurses and caregivers to provide quality, accessible and close-to-home support for people in need
- supports the design and implementation of adequate and effective financing of long-term care services, including by putting in place integrated and coherent frameworks between healthcare and social care services
