ERWG 2025: building connections with researchers in the Baltics
The 11th annual meeting of Eurocarers’ Research Working Group (ERWG) took place on 9-10 October 2025 in Vilnius, Lithuania, co-hosted and co-organised with the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences. The annual ERWG meeting (9 October) was followed by an international conference (10 October) titled ‘Mapping Informal Care: Research, Policies and Practices in the Baltics and in Europe’.
The ERWG meeting traditionally marks the conclusion of Eurocarers’ annual programme and serves as a vital platform to shape the themes for the year ahead. Whether it be through research projects, position papers or workshops, the group’s discussions play a pivotal role in setting the agenda. More importantly, the meeting’s primary goal, as with all Eurocarers’ activities, is to provide practical value to our members in their work.
This year a full day was dedicated to exchange knowledge with colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, to learn about the state of the art of informal care research in the Baltics. This was a first step in the direction of expaning the Eurocarers network towards countries that are currently unrepresented. This intention will continue to guide the upcoming edition of the ERWG in the future.
For those who could not attend, all presentations and notes shared during the ERWG meeting are now available on our website. You can access them here.
