The European voice for informal carers

Eurocarers co-signed the Turin Declaration calling for sustainable, community-based support systems that empower families and informal carers

The Turin Declaration calls for action to ensure sustainable, community-based support systems that empower families and informal carers and promote self-determination and participation for people with disabilities. Co-signed by 13 European Networks, the Declaration lays out several recommendations for the EU and its Member States to ensure that both people with disabilities and their families can access the support they need to exercise real choice and control over their lives.

We joined 12 other European Networks to urge European and national leaders to:
🔹 Deliver a strong EU Care Deal
🔹 Advance a second phase of the EU Disability Rights Strategy (2026–2030)
🔹 Strengthen the Child Guarantee for children with disabilities and their families

Eurocarers contributed actively in the Conference ‘Empowering families, enabling self-determination –Rethinking support at every life stage” organised in Turin on 21 October by EASPD and Fondazione Paideia International, during which the Declaration was officially launched.

It’s time to invest in inclusive systems that work for everyone where support is a right, not a privilege.
