Eurocarers welcomes new Executive Director
After ten remarkable years of dedicated service, Stecy Yghemonos is stepping down as Executive Director of Eurocarers. During his tenure, Stecy has been instrumental in strengthening Eurocarers’ position as the leading European network advocating for informal carers. His vision, commitment and tireless efforts have helped ensure that carers’ voices are heard in EU and national policy development, paving the way for significant progress in recognising and supporting their essential role in society.
The Eurocarers Board, members and Secretariat warmly thank Stecy for his extraordinary contribution and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
At the same time, Eurocarers is delighted to announce the appointment of Shannon Pfohman as its new Executive Director.
Shannon is an energetic and strategic leader with a successful track record in delivering quality results and managing high-performing teams in the field of political advocacy and European NGO management. Throughout her career, she has worked on complex global and European policy issues ranging from migration and equality, social economy, innovation and social policy, including long-term care, as well as on international development and a just climate transition. Her deep understanding of the EU institutions as well as of policy processes and advocacy will be invaluable in leading Eurocarers into its next chapter.
With Shannon’s appointment, Eurocarers looks forward to building on the strong foundations laid over the past decade — continuing to raise awareness of carers’ realities, influencing European and national policy development and promoting a more caring and inclusive Europe.
