The European voice for informal carers

Sari Tervonen is Executive Director of the Carers Finland that is an advocacy and support association for carers, cared ones and volunteering on informal/family caring. There are 69 member associations with 12 000 members in the Carers Finland. The Carers Finland coordinates also the Finnish Carers Network of diasability and patient organsations.

Sari has 25 years experienxce in NGO activities such as advocacy and development work, also at international level. Sari’s previous tasks include Executive Director of the Finnish Epilepsy Association, Chief of Development in the Finnish Alzheimer Association, Planner in the Central Assosiation for Social Welfare and Health and Regional Secretary of the Finnish MS Association. She has got working experience also from home service and guiding of people with learning disabilities. She has been nominated to two national committees; in the National Insurance Institution and the committee of the Funding Center for Social Welfare and Health Organisations.

Sari has a Master’s Degree of Education and Certificate of Management and Leadership. At the moment she is doing MBA in the University of Tampere/University of Technology.
