Chief Executive of VOCAL – Voice of Carers Across Lothian – www.vocal.org.uk – since 1994. VOCAL is a carer-led social enterprise in Scotland (Edinburgh and Midlothian) and supports over 10,000 carers and their families each year, with 40 staff and some 80 volunteers
Executive board member of the Coalition of Carers in Scotland – www.carersnet.org. The Coalition brings together over 50 carer organisations across Scotland, including remote rural and island areas.
Executive board member of the German carer organisation wir pflegen – www.wir-pflegen.net. He acted as an adviser to the development, later joined the Board and has been the convenor of the Board for the past five year.
